Women of Note enjoyed a unique holiday experience this year.

The Southwick Zoo in Massachusettes has a beautiful event called Winter Wonderland, where they cover the zoo in lights and have a special holiday train ride through their open deer park. This year, the zoo asked the Women of Note to send a small group out to sing seasonal songs to their guests as they rode the train and enjoyed the various exhibits.

It was a beautiful, chilly Saturday evening when eight of our members, dressed up in sparkly scarves, and carrying pitch pipes, wandered around the zoo for two hours singing in various tableaux. We sang to the guests standing in line to meet Santa, and even had a few patrons join in! There was “Sing with the Goats”! The animals seemed to love it, when they weren’t trying to eat our sparkly scarves!

Singing Carol of the Bells while standing above the Holiday Maze was a highlight, as was singing on the train ride. It was a lovely evening of music and magic that ended with a great dinner at the Zoo’s delicious restaurant. Women of Note hope to enjoy this holiday tradition for many more years!
