Focusing on possibilities
By Linda Brehaut, International President
POSSIBILITIES – that is my word for 2022!
Let us look for possibilities that will connect us, that will inspire us, that will motivate us. Let us look for possibilities when others are looking at problems. Let us take whatever this year throws at us (and please do not even try to guess what that could be!) and make the best of it.
I have moved far away from thinking that I know - or think I know - how things will go, any more than a day or two ahead. I have become flexible (not physically of course!) and ready to accommodate change. With that said, I am not prepared to be flexible with my core values. I will continue to be understanding and compassionate. I will continue to value the people who are journeying through life with me (and that includes each of you!) and celebrate the joy we bring to each other.
We may have come together because of music, but I dare say that those who enjoy singing and performing do so for others. That is what unites us. We are all in this organization so that we can bring a positive experience to someone else – it might be our audience, or simply each other.
2022 is starting off a little shaky with uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, but I am inviting each of you to come together. Collectively, we will work together to look for new possibilities to make this year a positive one.
Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful New Year filled with wide-open eyes as we look for the possibilities that surround us.

Consider serving at the international level
By Kim Meechan, Director of Membership
Can you believe that 2022 is here already? There are so many things to look forward to this year, the best of which, I hope, is to see each other in person at upcoming Area and International Conventions and Contests.
While these annual events provide a wonderful way to enjoy our membership with Harmony, Inc., I’ve discovered that there is another way to feel that connectedness and fulfillment - serving the International Board of Directors. This is my third year on the IBOD. In addition to getting to know the amazing women who provide leadership to our organization, I have learned more about Harmony, Inc. than I ever could have imagined. When experience and learning move beyond any chapter or area it is like a bright spotlight, shining on every aspect of our organization. The work, consideration, and dedication to Harmony, Inc. of these women is remarkable. Our history, our plans for the future, and our daily interactions with members are exciting and rewarding.
I encourage every one of you to think about ways you can contribute to the work of Harmony, Inc. at the international level, whether it be as an assistant to the IBOD, as an Area Director, or as a Board Director. Elections will be coming up this spring for a number of positions including Area Director for Areas 1, 3 and 5 and Board Directors. Consider nominating someone you know who has the skills, the time, and the interest in nurturing and growing Harmony, Inc.
The deadline for nominations and applications is May 1, 2022. Online forms, HAR-034 Part 1 (Nomination Form) and HAR-034 Part 2 (Application Form), can be found in the Members Only section of our website.
