Sara Wood
Director of Development

Sara Wood is currently a member of Bella Nova Chorus, Area 3, in Ashburn, VA. Prior to beginning her term on the Harmony Board, she served as her chapter president as well as the editor of The Key-Note. Before barbershop, Sara was a life-long choral singer, with most recent membership in the Fairfax Choral Society. In college, she had a focus in vocal performance and opera. Sara found barbershop when Bella Nova was created almost 10 years ago, and she completely fell in love with the art form. Ever since, she has been a dedicated member of her chorus and is looking to help Harmony grow into a bright future.

In addition to her work with Harmony, Sara works professionally with non-profit associations. In that role, she is the Executive Director of the Public Media Business Association and the North American Association of Commencement Officers. She also serves as the Deputy Executive Director for the Association of Water Technologies, where she focuses on their public relations, advocacy, and charity strategies. In addition to her responsibilities as an executive director, Sara also provides tailored strategic planning consulting, with concentration on organizational growth, maximizing value and sustainability.

In addition to serving associations professionally, Sara is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), speaking regularly at industry events on navigating disruption, strategic planning, and maximizing resources on a limited budget. Sara holds her Master of Business Administration from the Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology and her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Mary Washington.
